REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is an alternative or complementary healing method that uses massage to reflex zones found in the feet and hands.  This treatment is believed to benefit and improve general health as well as relieve stress and pain in other parts of the body.  In the feet, there are reflex areas that correspond to different parts of the body.  These areas are arranged in such a way as to form a map of the body in the feet.  The right side of the body relates to the right foot and the left side of the body to the left foot.

ReflexologyThe underlying principle of reflexology is that each reflex point of the foot acts as a mirror that corresponds to a particular organ in the body.  By applying pressure and stimulating these points in the feet, it helps to release blockages and re-balance the energy flow in the body.  According to reflexologists, harmful influences on the body, like stress, fatigue, illness, toxins and inactivity, can be healed by using reflexology treatments.
