Memories Of A Lifetime: Improving Memory With The MediLodge Whole Person Wellness Program

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

 

Life is full of memories and every past moment is a memory except for the present split second.  A moment lasts all of a second but the memory lives on forever.  The irony of human memory is that we all tend to keep in memory the faults committed by others to us and erase from memory the faults committed by us.  Memory is a two-way sword which can be used to the advantage or disadvantage of the individual.  Memory has the capability to influence the mood of a person.  Depending upon the memory, one can turn on or off the mood. Try to replenish your memory and filter them so that only the good ones stay on.

 

Creditors have a better memory than debtors.

 

Anything that improves your brain health may also have a positive impact on your memory.  Physical exercise and engaging in brain-stimulating activities (crossword puzzles or Sudoku) are two proven methods for helping keep your brain healthy.

 

We do not remember days; we remember moments.

 

A healthy body is a healthy brain.  Eating right and keeping stress at bay helps your mind focus on new information and is good for your body too.  Getting a good night’s sleep every night is also very important.

 

I am a miser of my memories of you and will not spend them.

 

There are two kinds of memory; short-term and long-term.

Short term memory is the kind of memory our brain uses to store small pieces of information needed right away, like someone’s name when you meet for the first time.  Research has demonstrated that short-term memory’s capacity is about seven pieces of information.  After that something has to go.

 

It is surprising how much memory is built around things unnoticed at the time.

 

Long term memory is for things you don’t need to remember this instant.  When you study for a test or exam, that’s long-term memory at work.  A memorable moment in your life, events with family or friends, and other similar kinds of situations also get stored in long-term memory.

 

We often don’t appreciate the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
