MediLodge of Rochester Hills Enjoys The Unique Season Of Autumn

This year the Autumnal Equinox is Sunday, September 22.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is rising later now, and nightfall comes sooner. This is our autumnal equinox, when the days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. At this equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway. South of the equator, spring begins.

There are many reasons to love the season of autumn. One of the biggest is the beauty of the season. We are privileged to live in an area that has a true autumn. We enjoy the way the colors of the leaves move from bright greens to the mixture of tones that are golden, orange, red and burgundy. You know that the colors begin to change slowly, as if they will soon become a dead brown, and then the brilliance of autumn colors emerges from every area of trees.

The beauty of autumn is in the diversity of the colors and in their warmth. Another great thing about autumn is the way it marks a new beginning, at least for children and youth who are enjoying summer break. The beginning of autumn marks for them the start of a whole new year. There is excitement over what the new year of classes, teachers and friends will bring. Parents love the beginning of autumn because it means their kids are once again spending their days safely in school. They know that autumn means their children are learning and growing again. Autumn marks the chance to begin again and to enjoy all of the pleasures of the season. MediLodge of Rochester Hills enjoys the unique season of Autumn.
